How do I register a complaint about my neighbours property?
To register a complaint about a neighbours property a By-Law Enforcement complaint Form must be filled out. These forms are available at the Township Office in Victoria Harbour or at the Tay Hydro Office in Port McNicoll. A letter may also be submitted, but in order to ensure that the complaint is registered the senders name, address and telephone number must be included along with the address of the property of concern and the nature of the complaint

Are complaints confidential?
Yes. All complaints are private and confidential and protected pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection to Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990. No name will be disclosed with respect to any investigation and/or charges that may be laid.

Does the Township take any complaints over the phone?
Yes. The complaints the Township will accept over the phone are limited to fire, littering, parking and noise as they occur. All other complaints must be made in writing.

How do I complain about excessive noise on weekends and in the evenings?
After hour complaints that require immediate attention can be directed to the O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122. All complaints not requiring immediate attention can be called in to a 24 hour voice message system at (705) 534-7248 Ext. 237. The By-law Enforcement Officer will investigate when he or she returns to the office.
