Tay Township would like your feedback on recent changes on the Building Permit Process, which now includes the Planning First approach and the completion of a Zoning Certificate prior to applying for a building permit. The intent of this process change was to streamline the building permit process and identify any zoning issues prior to proceeding to a formal building permit application. Summary results of this survey will be shared with management and Council to help the department in its continuous improvement efforts in providing efficient customer service. Prior to submitting a building permit, Planning approval must be obtained first.
As a result of reviewing the internal processes of the Planning and Development Department, which includes Building Services, Council has adopted a streamlined approach to processing building permits. This includes a Planning First and Complete Submission approach that was implemented as of April 1, 2016. This streamlined process improves the overall customer service that the Township provides to its residents, contractors and developers for building projects.
