Fire Department Water Shuttle Tanker Accreditation

The Tay Township Fire and Emergency Services department has achieved Fire Department Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation as of July 9, 2015.

Fire Protection Survey Services examined Tay's capabilities during a two hour test on July 9, 2015.  The accreditation is valid for five years.  Tay Township Fire and Emergency Services plans to renew the Fire Department Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation prior to its expiration in August 2020.

Details of Accreditation

Details of the Tay Township Fire and Emergency Services Fire Department Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation include:

  • Accredited to continuously deliver water via water tanker shuttle at a rate equivalent to municipal fire hydrant protection.
  • Accredited to continuously deliver water at a rate of 1090 Litres Per Minute (LPM) / 240 Imperial Gallons Per Minute (IGPM).
  • All Tay Township fire stations are accredited (Old Fort Fire Station, Port McNicoll Fire Station, Victoria Harbour Fire Station, Waubaushene Fire Station).
  • Current period of accreditation is July 9, 2015 through July 31, 2020.
