Requirements for Collection:

  • All materials for recycling collection must be placed in blue boxes issued by the County of Simcoe, with exceptions such as cardboard.
  • Cardboard may be placed beside the box provided it's flattened, bundled and tied with twine or string (no tape). Bundles must not exceed 91 cm x 91 cm x 20 cm (36" x 36" x 8").
  • Please do not place any recycling products in plastic bags.
  • Remember to purchase products only in recyclable containers that are accepted in the County of Simcoe's Blue Box Program

Green (Compost) Bins

Green Compost Bins may be purchased at the Tay Township Municipal Office for $15.

THE GREEN BIN IS IN!

The BIN IS IN and it's going to change the way you think about garbage. After being collected, your organic waste will be converted into rich compost for farming and landscaping instead of going to landfill. The Township of Tay strongly encourages use of the green bin to help the environment and to reach the diversion target of eliminating 65% of waste from landfill. So do something good for the earth and toss it in the bin. You'll be glad you did.
