Treasury Department

Tay Township's Treasury Department is responsible for the financial management of the Municipality. The Treasury Department assists Council and staff in the development of sound financial policies and strategic goals while providing good customer service to our residents.

The Treasury Department provides a wide range of services including:

  • Billing and collection of Property Taxes for the Municipality, County and School Boards
  • Billing and collection of Water and Wastewater services
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Capital asset tracking and reporting
  • Payroll and Benefits administration
  • Tax rate calculation
  • Preparation of Township's Operating and Capital Budgets
  • Budget variance analysis and reporting
  • Grant applications
  • Ensuring the Municipality has a current Procurement Policy
  • Establishing and maintenance of accounting systems
  • Investing and borrowing of funds
  • Managing information technology
  • Providing information, reports, analysis and recommendations to Council and other Departments regarding the financial operations of the Township
  • Ensuring the financial integrity of the Township
