Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament ‘Tee Off With Tay’ raises $62,000 

The community came together in full force for the Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament, "Tee Off With Tay," held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Midland Golf & Country Club. The event proved to be a tremendous success, raising $62,000 to support vital community initiatives. 

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards the following community initiatives: 

$6,000 to Tay Shores Public Elementary School and $6,000 to St. Antoine Daniel Catholic Elementary School for nutrition programs, outdoor learning initiatives and technology enhancements, ensuring students have access to healthy meals, dynamic hands-on educational experiences and the digital tools needed to support their learning. 

$24,000 to Georgian Bay General Hospital for the acquisition of a Portable Patient Lift, essential for helping seniors and other patients maintain mobility, independence, and dignity during care. 

$26,000 to Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, helping bring programs and resources to frail older adults and their caregivers through the North Simcoe Muskoka Specialized Geriatric Services program. The funding will help to improve care, quality of life, and safe aging in place for older adults 

Mayor Ted Walker expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the community’s incredible support, saying “This tournament reflects what makes Tay Township so special, when our community comes together in support of local services like healthcare and education, we’re investing in a healthier, more connected, and resilient future for everyone who calls Tay home.” 

The success of the tournament highlights the tremendous generosity and commitment of all our sponsors, participants and volunteers who made the event possible. Their contributions will help enhance educational opportunities, improve healthcare resources, and bring critical mental health support to those who need it most.
