"TAY" Canada Day Celebrations

Date: Jun 19, 2020 - Jun 21, 2020

Location: 197 Robin's Point Rd

On the 19th & 20th June 2020 Tay Township will be celebrating Canada’s 153rd Birthday. Our event is so special, to the point that it has grown into the second most favourite celebration to attend in the area. It is not only a family affair, overflowing with events for all ages, but also encompasses 2 adult evenings filled camaraderie, song and dance. Each year, we pull out all stops and organize two days of non-stop entertainment and this year is no exception. On Friday afternoon at 5:00 pm join us for a fantastic Lion's Steak on a Bun BBQ, while you dance and country rock to the great sounds of the Outlaw Sons. In the evening a fantastic Beatles/Beach Boys and American Graffiti Tribute Band will have everyone dancing and singing to all the old hits. On Saturday our popular Canada Day Parade will take place at 12:00 starting at the corner of Albert and Wycliffe. Thereafter, the entire community is invited to FREE Hamburgers & Sausages most graciously provided by the Wye Heritage Marina, and Hot Dogs by our wonderful Legion Ladies Auxiliary. After the opening ceremonies, stick around and listen and dance to the outstanding sounds of the Renaissance Band followed by major artist impersonators and culminated by the great rockin sounds of Tyler French. In the evening, after a full afternoon of local entertainment North America’s #1 Guns N’ Roses Tribute band, “Appetite for Democracy” will “Rock the Venue.” Albeit, we are still in the planning stages, the afternoon will be filled with entertainment for one and all (Children’s Watermelon Eating Contest), (40 stall contingent of artisans), (Exotic Petting Zoo, Face Painters, Balloon Twisters, Juggling uni-cyclist etc.) This is indeed a celebration not to be missed. and EVERYTHING is FREE, other than your refreshments. As you may know, we are a not for profit organization, and our main objective is to break even. However, the overwhelming success of last year's event allowed us to be able to donate just under $13,000 to local charities and initiatives, and we are proud to state that over the past 8 years we have donated nearly $95,000.00 COME ONE, COME ALL to this GREAT COMMUNITY/TOWNSHP EVENT
