Municipal Boat Launch

The Albert Street Dock is located at 91 Albert Street, in Victoria Harbour

Trailer parking at 110 and 145 Albert Street (Library parking lot) requires a Municipal Parking Permit.

Trailer Permit Parking at 145 Albert Street is permitted at the following times:

  • Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 1:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • Sunday 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. (May 1 to Oct 15)

Please note: No overnight parking is permitted on any of the public parking lots.

FAQ

How do I get a Municipal Parking Permit?

Obtain your parking permit instantly online at MyTay.ca.  Click on “Boat Launch Parking Permits” and enter the required information. Please note that you will need to provide proof of property ownership or residency, and provide a license plate number of the vehicle the permit will be attached too. 

Alternatively, you can also pick up a permit in person at the Municipal Office at 450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour during regular business hours Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. -  4:30p.m.

How much does the permit cost?

There is NO cost to the permit.

When is the permit valid?

Time of purchase to December 31st of each year.

Where can I park with the permit?

110 Albert Street (closest spaces to the boat launch available) and 145 Albert Street during the permitted hours for vehicles with trailers only.

I have two (or more) vehicles at my household, can I get more than one permit?

No, you must choose which vehicle to put the parking permit sticker on.  The sticker may not be transferred to another vehicle.

I have a secondary suite / renters can I get more than one permit?

One permit per legally established, separate dwelling unit is permitted.  Proof of address is required.

Can I pay for an extra permit for my household?

No, they are not available for purchase.

How do I properly display my permit?

Place the sticker in a conspicuous place on your vehicle’s windshield.

My permit was stolen – what should I do?

I got a ticket, and am a local resident, what do I do?

Vehicles parked without a permit in permit only spaces will be ticketed and/or towed.  If you would like to park in those spaces in the future, please obtain a Municipal parking permit first.

The parking lot is always full at the Victoria Harbour Boat Launch, where else can I launch my boat and park?

You can park on William Street outside of the no parking areas near the intersections. All streets near the boat launch are restricted for vehicles with trailers and will be ticketed if parked in the restricted area. 

There are parking spaces available at 110 Albert Street and Veterans Lane for vehicles without a trailer.

You can also launch and park your boat at the following local marinas:

Pier 69: 10 Duck Bay Road, Waubaushene ON.

Queen's Cove Marina: 67 Juneau Road, Victoria Harbour, ON.

Wye Heritage: 3282 Ogden's Beach Road, Midland ON (GPS Location Tay Township).

I’m not a Tay resident, can I get a parking permit or pay for one?

No. Parking permits are only available to property owners or residents.

I’m a tourist/visitor where can I launch my boat and park my trailer/vehicle?

Tourists and visitors may use the public launch but may not park in the permit parking spaces or on any of the restricted streets. Boat launches with parking are available at one of our local marinas listed above.

I’m a tourist/visitor where can I park at/around the Victoria Harbour Boat Launch?

There are parking spaces available at 110 Albert Street for vehicles without a trailer and also spaces available on Veterans Lane. Vehicles without trailers are permitted to park in street parking spaces signed prohibited for trailers but must stay out of the signed no parking areas (Waldie and Wycliffe).

I’m not a Tay resident and got a ticket, how do I pay it?

Tickets can be paid by attending the Municipal Office at 450 Park St, Victoria Harbour Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm or by mailing the ticket with payment via cheque or money order.  Cash is not recommended to be placed in the mail.

I’m not a Tay resident and got a ticket, and want to fight it, how do I do that?

Individuals can fill out the back of the ticket indicating that they are opting for a trial. They can drop this off at the Municipal Office, or mail it in, and will receive a notice of trial in the mail from the Provincial Offences Court Office indicating their trial date.
