Be prepared: Environment Canada issues special weather statement for freezing rain Sunday afternoon into Monday morning

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement of freezing rain Sunday afternoon to Monday morning. 

Tay Township reminds all residents to be prepared. 

Safety Reminders: 

  • Take extra care when walking or driving. Surfaces may become icy and slippery. 
  • Postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve. 
  • Create an emergency plan and prepare an emergency kit with essentials such as: 
    • Drinking water 
    • Non-perishable food 
    • Medications 
    • First-aid supplies 
    • Flashlight and batteries
