Tay, Ontario – Congratulations to Jackie Ladouceur on being named the 2023 Tay Township Citizen of the Year! Council and staff were able to celebrate Jackie at the Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday May 24, 2023.

“Jackie is the true definition of a volunteer, her willingness to give her time to so many different activities and fundraisers in our community is what being a volunteer is all about. We are so grateful to have volunteers who go above and beyond like Jackie in our community,” said Mayor Ted Walker.

A lifelong resident of Port McNicoll, Ladouceur was described by her nominator as a person committed to making her community a better place to live, combined with her positive attitude and infectious energy she is a volunteer that keeps on going. Ladouceur is a committed volunteer at the Paul Spencer Memorial Soapbox Derby, providing treats and drinks for both drivers and fans. She has volunteered with the Port McNicoll Recreation Committee assisting with the Easter Egg Hunt, youth dances and BBQ fundraisers. On behalf of all of us at Tay Township congratulations Jackie on this well-deserved award.
