Update: Portarama cancellations due to weather
A message from the Portarama Committee:
The fireworks have been cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, due to a major weather phenomenon. The winds were simply unbearable and posed a significant safety risk.
The fireworks will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025 during our Portarama PARTY fundraiser at Patterson Park. The event will include: Live bands, BBQ, corn roast and support from the local fire department.
Please note that Portarama Sunday events will continue as planned, including: The Port McNicoll Lions Pancake Breakfast, the Wye Birds of Prey presentation, Historical Society display, OSPCA food drive, and the Paul Spencer Memorial Soapbox Derby.
A reminder that Talbot Street will be closed from Sixth Avenue to Third Avenue between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday May 18, 2025 for the Soapbox Derby.

Road Closures Saturday, May 17, 2025
There will be multiple road closures in Port McNicoll for the Portarama Parade on Saturday, May 17th. The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. and end around 12:00 p.m.
The road closure will include the following:
Talbot Street from Simcoe Avenue to Third Street with road closures on both sides of Talbot Street at the corners of the following:
- Simcoe Street and Talbot Street blocked across Simcoe Street
- Eighth Avenue
- Seventh Avenue
- Sixth Avenue
- Fifth Avenue
- Fourth Avenue
- Ney Avenue
- Third Avenue
- Talbot Street blocked across at Third Avenue

Road Closures Sunday, May 18, 2025
The Paul Spencer Memorial Soapbox Derby takes place on Sunday, May 18th. Talbot Street will be closed from Sixth Avenue to Third Avenue between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for the Soapbox Derby.
