National Public Works Week
WHEREAS, National Public Works Week (NPWW) is celebrated annually to recognize the significant impact of public works in our daily lives; and
WHEREAS, this year, from May 18 to May 24, 2025, we honour the dedicated professionals who contribute to enhancing the quality of life in our communities; and
WHEREAS, the theme for this year’s NPWW is People, Purpose, Presence; and
WHEREAS, Public Works professionals play a vital role in our communities by planning, building, managing, and operating essential infrastructure including examples such as Road Maintenance (ensuring safe and efficient transportation networks), Water Services (providing clean water) and many other Infrastructure Projects.
THEREFORE, I urge all citizens to join in activities, events, and ceremonies designed to pay tribute to our public works professionals, engineers, managers, and employees and to recognize the substantial contributions they make to protecting our health, safety, and advancing quality of life for all.
