Simcoe County starts accepting brush collection requests as of May 9
In response to the significant amount of brush resulting from the March ice storm, and as part of ongoing clean-up efforts, the County of Simcoe is providing another increased service to support residents and communities.
Beginning Friday, May 9, 2025, residents in Simcoe County outside of the *areas highly impacted by the ice storm can submit requests for brush pickup from specific addresses, with collections commencing on Tuesday, May 20. *Highly impacted areas are located in Ramara, Oro-Medonte and Severn.
Tay Township residents can submit a request for brush pickup by Monday, May 19 to ensure collection.
It is important that residents place all brush material curbside by Monday, May 19 to ensure collection as timing of collection may vary; however, materials will be collected.
How to request collection:
- Web Portal: Submit a request through this web portal.
- Phone: Call the Service Simcoe Contact Centre by phone at 705-735-6901 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Email: Send a request to service@simcoe.ca.
How to place brush for collection:
- Bundling of brush is not required, but it’s preferred as it will help crews work faster to provide more efficient service.
- If possible, sort your debris into larger and smaller brush piles.
- All municipalities, including those in the severely impacted areas and those that make requests, must have their brush placed curbside no later than Monday, May 19 to ensure collection.
Brush drop-off fees waived until end of June
The County has also waived brush drop-off fees at all County waste facilities until the end of June. Additionally, the temporary drop-off site that was opened in Innisfil has been extended to May 17. Dropping off brush at a waste facility is the fastest way for residents to clear debris off their property. For all waste location details and hours, please click here.
