Street Sweeping Update
Date: May 28, 2025
Tay Township Operations Staff are completing the first pass of street sweeping in Victoria Harbour. This work is expected to be finished by the end of this week or early next week, weather permitting.
Contracted street sweepers are currently finalizing sweeping in Port McNicoll, followed by Waverley. Once complete, they will continue to Waubaushene and return to Victoria Harbour for the final clean up. Please note that the sweeping rotation changes annually.
Spring street sweeping removes sand and debris that has built up over the winter. It is a multi-step process:
- First Pass: Township crews sweep municipal roads to remove the bulk of the accumulated material.
- Second Pass: A contractor follows with a more detailed sweep to collect any remaining fine materials. This second step may not occur immediately after the first.
We appreciate your patience as this important seasonal maintenance work is completed. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Operational Services Team at 705-534-7248 x230 or visit tay.ca/roads.
