Tay Shore Trail Winter Maintenance

As the winter season approaches, the maintenance of the Tay Shore Trail, with the exception of two sections, has come to a close for the season. To help protect the trail during the winter months, Township staff have installed winter barrier gates along the trail to prevent motorized vehicle use.

The following sections of the Tay Shore Trail will continue to be maintained by the Township this winter:

  • Waubaushene: Pine St. to Coldwater Rd.
  • Port McNicoll: First Ave Trail – Davidson St. to Woodlands Ave.

Please note that this season, under a Council authorized one year trial, the trail section from Triple Bay Road to Duffy Drive will be groomed by the Georgian Bay Snowriders Club and will be designated as a multi-use trail. All users are welcome—please follow posted trail guidelines and respect other trail users to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. To check the status of the snowmobile trail throughout the season, please visit the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs website.

Maintenance of the entire Tay Shore Trail will resume in the spring of 2026.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping the Tay Shore Trail safe and protected during the winter months.
