Tay Township Firefighters Going Door-to-Door to Promote Home Safety Monday May 26, 2025
On Monday May 26, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., members of Tay Township Fire and Emergency Services will be canvassing the community door-to-door to share important information about smoke alarm and carbon monoxide (CO) safety.
Firefighters from each Hall will be targeting the following areas:
- Waubaushene: Area of Browns Line and Percy Street
- Rural Tay: Area of Bramhall Park and Candlelight Village
- Port McNicoll: Area of 9th Ave and Simcoe Ave
- Victoria Harbour: Area of John Dillingno, Bay St, George St and Maple St
Firefighters will be in uniform and will be delivering educational materials, answering questions and helping residents better understand how to keep their homes and families safe. If residents in these areas are unavailable our firefighters will leave behind informational brochures.
This friendly, educational initiative is part of a broader effort to connect with residents directly, share life-saving information and help ensure every household understands their responsibilities under Ontario’s Fire Code.
If you're not home during the visit and would like to speak or have the Fire Department return at a time that works for you, please contact:

This program will rotate to other areas of the Township each year. Our Fire Department is always available to help you with your smoke and CO alarms. The goal is to ensure that working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are in every home in Tay Township.
