Tay Township Introduces Online Dog Tag Licensing
Tay Township is making it easier than ever to be a responsible pet owner. In a move that reflects the commitment to modern, accessible service delivery, residents can now purchase and pay for their dog tags online.
Dog Tags are $35.00/dog. Tay Township has a two-dog limit per household. Licensed Kennels are exempt from this rule.
Visit tay.ca/canine to complete your application, pay online and submit proof of rabies vaccination.
The purpose of Canine Control and Dog Licensing is to ensure the safety and well-being of both residents and animals throughout the Township. All dog owners in Tay Township must obtain a dog license every calendar year for each dog they own, abide by “poop & scoop” regulations and keep dogs on a leash when out in the Township.
The Canine Control and Dog Licensing By-law regulates the ownership and behaviour of dogs, preventing issues such as noise, dogs at large and potential dangers. The By-law also promotes responsible pet ownership, facilitates identification of dogs and owners and helps manage rabies vaccinations through licensing.
Dog licenses can also be purchased in person at the Township Office or by mail by completing the application and submitting it along with proof of rabies vaccination to 450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour, ON L0K 2A0.
