COVID-19 Impacts to Services and Information Update

Tay, Ontario: As part of the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit catchment area, Tay Township will be moving into the “RED-Control” level of the Provincial COVID-19 Response Framework.  The following measures have been taken to protect the health and well-being of our community members, including residents and our dedicated staff, with the goal of keeping time-sensitive operations running and available to the public:

  • The Municipal Office at 450 Park Street will reopen to the public effective Monday, March 8 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Attendance at the office for non-essential business is discouraged as a measure to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
  • Municipal staff can be contacted by email or over the phone at 705-534-7248.
  • It is not necessary to come to the municipal office to pay any bills in person at this time.
  • Tax and water bill payments can be made through your bank either online or at a bank branch.
  • Late payment fees and interest on all bills issued after January 1, 2021 will be waived for all current tax accounts until March 31, 2021.
  • Active living recreation programs will resume the week of March 8, 2021.  All current programs are full.  Registration for May active living programs are slated to open in April, subject to COVID-19 protocols at that time.
  • The Tay Township Public Library will continue to offer curbside pick.  For full details please visit tay.ca/library
  • The dog tag discount program has been extended until April 30, 2021.
