Candidate Package>
In order to run for Council in the 2026 Municipal Election, you must pick up a Candidate Package in-person at the Tay Township Municipal Office during regular office hours. The Candidate Package contains required forms for filing your nomination in the 2026 Municipal Election.
Contents of the Candidate Package include:
- Nomination Paper (Form 1)
- Endorsement of Nomination (Form 2)
- Election Sign Deposit Form
- Preliminary Estimate of Maximum Campaign Expenses
- Declaration of Proper Use of Voters' List
- Candidate’s Consent to Release Personal Information
- Declaration of Qualifications
- Withdrawal of Nomination*
- Appointment of Scrutineer by Candidate*
*form is not required for nomination submission.
In order to file your nomination you must first complete all required forms within the Candidate Package and then schedule a meeting with an Election Staff. Nomination filing meetings will take place at the Municipal Office located at 450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour, during regular office hours starting on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. until Nomination Day on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Important Dates
Prospective Candidates must pick up a Candidate Package in-person at the Municipal Office located at 450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour, during regular office hours.

Nomination filing meetings will take place at the Municipal Office during regular office hours starting on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. until Nomination Day on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Prospective Third Party Advertisers must schedule an appointment to formally register with an Election Staff. Appointments can be made during regular business hours starting on Monday, May 1, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. until Friday, October 23, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
Candidates who wish to withdraw their name, terminating their candidacy, must do so in-person at the Municipal Office with Election Staff during regular office hours before 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Internet and Telephone Voting will be open at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 and will be available until Election Day on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
Inaugural Council Meeting is the first meeting of the new Term of Council for 2026-2030. Members of Council will be sworn in during this meeting.
