Tay Township, located in north Simcoe County on the shores of Severn Sound (Georgian Bay), is a welcoming community ideal for families, retirees, and entrepreneurs. With a permanent population of 10,000, it includes the villages of Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour, Waubaushene and Waverley. The area offers a mix of rural charm and small-town living, along with vibrant community groups, recreational activities, and cultural events. Just 90 minutes north of Toronto, Tay is rich in business opportunities, especially in tourism and agriculture. Tay is directly positioned on Georgian Bay and has approximately 43 km of shoreline both under public and private ownership. The area’s 4,000 hectares of prime farmland supports a thriving local economy and an exceptional quality of life.

Tay Township is governed by an elected Council consisting of a Mayor, a Deputy Mayor and five Councillors. Municipal Council members are elected for a four-year term.
